Each year, we help hundreds of thousands of visitors find their way to the best of what the National Heritage Corridor offers. Not only do we want people to have a great trip—we are striving to develop a more integrated system of historic, cultural, and recreational resources that collectively constitute the Corridor's national significance.
From large festivals to more intimate events and speciality programs, we're helping to ensure that there are plenty of reasons for people to head to the waterfront again and again. In partnership with the NYS Canal Corporation, we sponsor statewide and community-based canal-related events each year.
Our Site Directory, Map & Guide, itineraries, website, and interpretive signs help residents and visitors find their way to great experiences along the canal. Visitors can record their experiences at designated cultural heritage sites with free stamps collected in a special spiral-bound National Park Service Passport.
Who visits? Where do they go? How much do they spend? What do they think about their experiences? Read the results of our visitor profile survey and economic impact study of events and tours.
