Tropical Storm Irene left much destruction in its wake. Communities and historic sites along the eastern Erie Canal/Mohawk River were most affected. Find information and links here. (last updated 11/17/11 at 2:10 pm)
 

 
   Canal System Status  
     

Notices to Mariners are posted daily by the NYS Canal System. For updates and information monitor 1-800-4CANAL4 and www.canals.ny.gov.
 

 
  Erie Canalway Trail/Hudson-Mohawk Bikepath  
      Use caution if cycling the eastern portion of the canal corridor. Some low-lying sections of trail were flooded during Tropical Storms Irene and Lee, leaving storm debris on the trail. A few areas saw major erosion/damage. Follow signs for detours.
